Colin was born in Wiltshire in the UK and educated at Portsmouth University (where he read Accountancy). In1980 he joined Racal Electronics PLC. where he was involved in a number of large defence projects.
Colin left Racal in 1984 after passing his CIMA finals and joined Motorola in their European HQ. In 1985 Colin moved Motorola’s European HQ to Germany and spent the next eight years there with extended stays in Sweden and Madrid. He headed projects for the implementation of new ERP systems and the acquisition of indirect channel partners.
Following the acquisition of a German wife, Colin was relocated to Florida in 1996 where he became CFO of Motorola’s $1B two way radio business.
In 1998 he returned to Europe as General Manager of Motorola’s Accessories and Aftermarket Division, where he first met David Floyd.
In 2000 Colin rejoined the Finance function as CFO of Motorola’s Public Networks Division in Europe. He was instrumental in a $1b bottom line turn-a-round over the next four years and built a team capable of winning and delivering profitable infrastructure solutions to major cellular operators in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
After a stint at Network optimization company Aircom International Colin joined Freeplay Energy as CFO.
Freeplay Energy saw David, Colin, Richard, and Nigel all working together for the first time. Within 2 years the team turned Freeplay around from a business losing in excess of $4M per year to a break even position. Recognising the unique set of skills and experience the team possessed, the foundations for the future were in place.
In 2009, following the succesful sale of Freeplay Energy, Bullitt Group was formed.
Colin has three sons. He enjoys skiiing and mountain biking and enjoys playing music,current affairs and history. He is a fluent German speaker.
