David was educated at Plymouth University (where he read Electrical and Electronic Engineering). In 1985 he joined a Australian Defense company (ATA) in its research and development centre.
Following ATA, David joined Motorola and over the next 10 years progressed through the business gaining a wide range of experiences as well as an MBA.
From 1995 David managed the EMEA Sales Operation and was responsible for building sales and market awareness through major retail across the region.
In 1998 he joined the Commercial & Government Sector and was responsible for introducing an online ordering system for the 30,000 spare parts business as well as growing profitability of the business.
In 2000 he was seconded to run a new group called the Office of Leadership. The team was responsible for managing the careers, development and training of the top 100 executives in Motorola and in 2002 he created the wireless networks division which was an amalgamation of several acquisitions Motorola made.
In 2004 David left Motorola to join Freeplay Energy (a UK AIM listed company) specialising in renewable energy as Managing Director
Freeplay Energy saw David, Colin, Richard, and Nigel all working together for the first time. Within 2 years the team performed a successful turn around of Freeplay from a business losing in excess of $4M per annum to break even. Recognising the unique set of skills and experience the team possessed, the foundations for the future were in place.
In 2009, following the succesful sale of Freeplay Energy, Bullitt Group was formed.
David has three daughters. He cycles, sails and regularly competes in enduro races.
