Nigel was born in Wales in the UK and educated at the University of Hertfordshire. Armed with a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and an MEng in Engineering Management, in 1995 Nigel joined Whitbread PLC as part of the Information Services Group responsible for data and voice network operations and enhancements.
In 1998, Nigel left Whitbread to set up his own company to provide consulting, development and system integration services to enterprise clients. He worked with clients such as BT Syncordia, ABN Amro, and General Motors on enterprise scale systems architecture projects. Additionally, he provided technical consultancy, due diligence, and feasibility study work for a high profile, venture capital backed search company.
In 2004, Nigel acquired Motorola as a client and found his skill set ideally matched to the mobile solutions and services. For the next 4 years, Nigel was responsible for the design and delivery of many large scale projects incorporating mobile device technology, C3 (command, control, and communication) systems, location and device tracking, wireless broadband, mesh, and innovative mobile technology solutions, for Motorola’s government, enterprise, and military clients.
In 2008, Nigel joined Freeplay Energy UK as Technology Director, integrating his specialist expertise in mobile devices and systems with the requirements of low power solutions.
Freeplay Energy saw David, Colin, Richard, and Nigel all working together for the first time. Within 2 years the team turned Freeplay around from a business losing in excess of $4M per year to a break even position. Recognising the unique set of skills and experience the team possessed, the foundations for the future were in place.
In 2009, following the succesful sale of Freeplay Energy, Bullitt Group was formed.
Nigel lives near London, has 3 children, plays guitar and drums, and enjoys reading, skiing, and track days.
